CheckMyIP.net is a fast and free IP lookup tool. It shows your current IPv4 and IPv6 addresses when available and lets you look up other IP addresses for network information such as ISP, organization, ASN, hostname, reverse DNS and approximate location.

What this site does

When you open the main page, your browser connects to our server and the server can see the IP address used by the connection. We display that address back to you. The page can also attempt to detect IPv4 and IPv6 separately and show technical information useful for network checks and troubleshooting.

You can also enter another IPv4 or IPv6 address into the IP lookup to view available network and location information.

IPv4 and IPv6

Modern internet connections may use IPv4, IPv6 or both. CheckMyIP.net attempts to show both protocols separately when they can be detected so you can see which addresses are available on your current connection.

IP lookup information

IP lookup results can include ISP, organization, ASN, hostname, reverse DNS, country, region, city and timezone. Availability depends on the IP address and the data returned by network information services.

Accuracy and important notes

• IP location is approximate: It may identify a country, region or city but it is not GPS and does not reveal an exact home address.
• VPN or proxy: If you use one, websites will normally see the address of that service instead of the address assigned directly by your internet provider.
• Shared networks: Mobile networks, ISPs and organizations can use technologies such as CGNAT, so multiple users may appear under the same internet-facing IP.
• Network data changes: ISP, hostname, reverse DNS and location records can be incomplete or change over time.

Privacy approach

CheckMyIP.net does not require an account or sign-up. We do not ask you to submit personal information simply to use the IP check. Like most websites, standard server logs and third-party services may process technical request data for security, analytics, advertising or to provide network information.
